Child Safety Standards
Last updated: May 2026
La Mega KC has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) content. We comply with all applicable laws and are actively committed to keeping our application and services free of this type of content.
This page describes the measures we take to protect minors on our mobile application and website, in compliance with the Google Play Child Safety Standards and the equivalent Apple App Store guidelines.
1. Nature of the service
The La Mega KC application is an online radio app. Its sole function is to play the station's live audio broadcast. The application does not allow users to post, upload, share, send messages, or generate content of any kind. It also does not include chats, forums, user profiles, comments, or social features between users.
Because of the nature of the app, the risk of user-generated CSAE content being present is nonexistent, since there is no way for users to upload or exchange content.
2. La Mega KC's commitments
- Zero tolerance for CSAE: we absolutely prohibit any child sexual abuse or exploitation content on our app, website, social media, and broadcasts.
- Legal compliance: we comply with all applicable laws in the United States related to the protection of minors, including COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and the reporting obligations to NCMEC (National Center for Missing & Exploited Children).
- Content curation: all content broadcast by the station is produced or approved by our editorial team. We do not rebroadcast user-generated content.
- Immediate reporting: upon any suspicion or report of CSAE content, La Mega KC commits to acting immediately, removing the related content, and reporting to the competent authorities when appropriate.
- Internal training: our team is informed about these standards and about how to handle reports related to the safety of minors.
3. Recommended minimum age
The application is rated as suitable for all ages in terms of its basic functionality (listening to radio). However, it is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors of that age. Minors must use the application under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
4. How to report CSAE-related content or conduct
If you detect or suspect the existence of child sexual abuse or exploitation content related to our application, website, broadcasts, or social media, we ask that you notify us immediately. We will investigate every report with the highest priority and act accordingly.
5. Direct reports to authorities
Additionally, if you have knowledge of online child sexual abuse material, you can report it directly to the competent authorities:
- NCMEC CyberTipline (United States): report.cybertip.org
- INHOPE (international network of reporting hotlines): inhope.org
- In case of immediate danger to a minor, contact 911 or the corresponding local authority.
6. Designated point of contact
La Mega KC has designated an internal point of contact responsible for receiving, reviewing, and following up on any report related to the safety of minors. All reports are treated confidentially.
